All of my cards are numbered so I can keep track of how many cards I've made along with the month and year I made them.
The layout designs that I use on my cards are provided from the design team at Freshly Made Sketches and Mojo Monday card challenges. The color schemes on some of my cards are compliments of the Color Throwdown card challenge. I owe my thanks to them for the use of these challenges.
Thank you for stopping by.

Holiday Wishes

This is my card for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches card challenge.

I haven't posted any cards for a little while because I have been concentrating on my studies to get my GED diploma. So far, I have passed the final exams for 3 of the subjects that are required. Now I am working on Math. If I can pass the practice test and then the final exam, I will get my diploma.

The other day during our zoom class, we were asked what we were thankful for this year. Well, most of all, I am thankful that God still has me alive to be with my wonderful husband and my precious chihuahua. Second, I am thankful for everyone at the GED center. They all have been very patient and understanding when it comes to my anxiety issues and they do their best to make accommodations when it is necessary. And last of all, I am thankful to have so many people being supportive of me and encouraging me as I do my studies and tests.

With that being said, I will tell you about my card...

As you can see, I used a white card stock for the blank card. I cut it down to a 5 3/4" by 4 1/2" card. I used a rectangle die cut on white cardstock for the card base.

I used a banner die with poinsettia Christmas cardstock for the background image. Then I used a piece of watercolor paper with a diamond die for the front image and for my sentiment.

The sentiment is a clear stamp from "Twas the night before" clear stamp set. I used embossing ink to stamp it onto the paper, then I sprinkled on some embossing powder and used my heat gun to bring it to life.

The final touch is the poinsettia flower, which is cut out using a poinsettia die and then I used a yellow brad to attach it to the front below the sentiment, along with a little snowflake embellishment above the sentiment.

This completes my card for this weeks challenge.

Thank you for stopping by to visit.

Warm winter wishes

I made this card for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I haven't posted any cards for a while because I have been busy with going back to school to get my GED.

I saw this weeks challenge and this particular theme just popped into my head and I decided to make it and post it on the challenge.

This is a 5x7 inch card that I themed with a wintery forest.

Supplies used are :

Large Oval die cut
Christmas Trees Dies
Poinsettia Die
Clouds Thinlets
Ribbon Messages Die
Marina Mist Stampin' up ink
Bravo Burgundy Stampin' up ink
Black Ink (Sentiment)
Christmas Clear Stamps for the sentiment
Snowflakes embossing folder
Pink pearls
Silver gel pen

First I cut out the oval shape on a 5x7 inch white cardstock. And then I cut another piece of white cardstock just big enough to go behind the oval shape. Then I used my snowflakes embossing folder because I wanted to make it look like it was snowing behind the pine trees.
I made the snowy ground by using some clouds thinlet dies and then I highlighted the snow by using a little bit of Marina Mist ink.
For the Christmas trees, I used a shiny forest green cardstock and my die cuts. After adhering them to my card base, I used a silver gel pen to bring out the trees layers, hoping to make it look like the trees have snow on them.
I used my poinsettia die to make a poinsettia to add to the bottom corner. It is connected by a yellow brad.
For the sentiment, I used a die cut from my ribbon messages stamp and cut, which is highlighted with Bravo Burgundy. The sentiment is stamped on with black ink and is a clear stamp from one of my Christmas stamps. And lastly, I added the pink pearls.

Here are a couple more angles of my card...

I've noticed that when I stand back a few feet and look at this card, that it actually does look like a little forest that is covered in snow. It also kind of reminds me of Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, only without the ornaments.

I hope you have enjoyed my card and thank you for visiting my blog. I hope you all are doing well and are staying safe during this pandemic.

Sweet little Angel

Here is my card for this weeks freshly made sketches challenge.
I've had this little cross stitch hanging around for a couple of years and I had it put away. I recently was going through things in my craft room the other day and I found it. So I thought I would finish it. And then after finishing it, I saw the layout design for this weeks challenge and I thought that this was the perfect layout to use this little cross stitch on.
The patterned papers that I used, I had to measure them and cut them by hand to make it work on a 5x7 inch card,
I also used a baby themed stamp set that is called "Stamp Baby" made by Cloud 9 Design.
The embossing folder is from Close to my heart ( I'm not sure what the name of it is).
I hope you like my card. I also pray that you all are doing everything you can to stay safe during this crazy time that we have to live through.
Thanks for stopping by. May God bless you can keep you all safe!

Good luck

This card is for this week's freshly made sketches challenge.
I decided to make a 5x7 inch card using 2 different sizes of my diamond shaped dies with a grey, pastel yellow, and pastel pink textured craft papers.
The flowers are already made embellishment flowers.
The sentiment is from my Hero Arts Hero Greetings Occasions sentiments clear stamps. I used black ink to stamp it onto a piece of grey textured paper and adhered it to my card front with double-sided sticky circles.
This completed my card for this week's freshly made sketches challenge.
Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog.
May God bless you and keep you safe during this trying time.

Happy Mother's Day

I hope all of you are trying your best to continue being safe during this crazy time in our lives!!
So far, my hubby and I are doing pretty good. We both wear a mask when we have to go anywhere and we try to get our shopping done as fast as possible so we can get out of the store and get back home.
Anyway, there's not much to say about this card, except that the green paper I used for the background behind the flower is from a 6x6 paper pad that I've had laying around for a couple of years.
The flower is from a pack of embellishments I recently purchased at our local craft store. I added the pearls just to make the flowers look better.
The sentiment is a wood mount stamp.

I hope all of the mother's out there will have a very nice Mother's day this coming weekend. God bless and stay safe.

Thinking of you

I made this card for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

My brother-in-law was in the Navy and was on one of the ships during the Vietnam war.
Sadly, he passed away in September 2019 at the age of 70. He was only 9 days away from his 71st birthday.
When I saw the layout design for this weeks challenge, I instantly thought that this kind of card would be perfect with the layout design.
My husband and I both miss Mario. He used to call us every night around the same time every night just to say hi and see how we are doing. And he would come over to visit at least once a week. We miss the phone calls and the visits. I was thinking about Mario when I made this card, which is why it says "thinking of you". RIP dear brother!! We love you!!

The supplies I used are :
Woodgrain Neutral paper pack
Anchor Stamp and cut Set
Anchor hand punch ( 2 tiny anchors )
Anchor craft ribbon,
Hemp cord
Stitched Circle Die cut

Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog. I hope you like my card.
I also hope you all are doing well and are staying safe.

Label framelit dies,
Stitched circle die
Scalloped circle dies,
Clouds framelit dies,
Pinking stitch embossing folder,
Mustard seed distress ink.
Black ink.
Artskills markers.

I used Mustard seed distress ink to distress the outer edge of my card front, which is embossed with Pinking stitch embossing folder.
I used a stitched circle over a scalloped circle and then stamped on the sunshine and then used a yellow and an orange Artskills markers to color it in.
I used pastel blue cardstock paper with clouds framelit dies for the clouds.
The sentiment is from Life is sweet stamp set from Fiskars, which is stamped onto a label die cut.
Thank you for visiting my blog.
I hope you are all staying safe with all of this coronavirus stuff going on.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all!
May God keep you safe and healthy...

Happy birthday

Supplies used are :

Flourish Thinlet dies
Paper butterflies
Handmade Essentials (Sentiment)
Pearls,
Peacock feathers distress ink
Mowed lawn distress ink.
Close to my heart embossing folder.

This is a 5"x7" card.
After embossing the card front, I distressed it using Peacock feathers distress ink.
Then I ran my Flourish thinlet dies through my BigKick machine to cut them out to use them as my theme. I situated the flowers together and then used a little dot of glue to glue on the pearls.
Then I situated the leaf pattern and then added the butterflies.
For the sentiment, I layed a stencil on a piece of white cardstock, traced it out, then cut it out and distressed it with Mowed lawn distressed ink.
The sentiment is from Handmade Essentials clear stamps from scrapbooking.com. It is stamped on with black ink and is adhered on with double-sided circles.

Thank you

Our local Joann's craft store still has a bunch of stuff on clearance, so I bought a pack of embellishments for $2.97, which is where this flower embellishment came from.
The patterned paper that I used is from Dots and Stripes paper pad.
The sentiment is from Flowers stamp and cut by Hero Arts.
The butterfly is a hand punch. I added the pearls and sequins to give this card a little bit of integrity and texture.

Pot of gold

I made this card for this weeks freshly made sketches challenge.
We have this animated DVD movie that shows a leprechaun's home is inside a little hill that is covered with clovers and he has his treasure inside his little home. So, that's what I was thinking about when I was making this card.
As you can see, I used the ribbon dies from my Ribbon messages stamp and cut set. I thought I would spice it up a little bit instead of using a rectangular design. The printed paper that I used is from a 12x12 sheet of St. Patrick's Day craft paper.
The clover is from my Holiday Sampler dies. The pot of gold is just an embellishment.
The sentiment is a wood mount stamp. I colored in the little pot and the word "gold" because I didn't want it to look too plain. I added the gems on the clovers and the sequins to give it a better look.
I hope you like my card and my take on this weeks sketch challenge.

Lucky Clover

#638-2020-03.
I thought that I would try a little something different and go outside of my comfort zone. I usually don't use my die cuts this way. I usually just use them for my sentiments.
As you can see in the second picture, I used the clover die from this set of holiday dies. The other die I used is from Ribbon Messages by Hero Arts stamp and cut.
I cut a piece of St. Patrick's Day paper and adhered it to the back of my card front after using the ribbon die. Then I used a double sided sticky circle to adhere the clover and added some sequins and a green gem.
The sentiment is a wood mounted St. Patrick's Day stamp.
The third picture is the same card, however, I replaced the green gem on the clover with a yellow-gold one. I think it looks better than the green one and it brings out the clover better.
I am posting this card on this week's freshly made sketches challenge.
It is also posted on my Fort Chestnut Designs page on Facebook.

Laugh, Believe, Hope

#637-2020-03.
Supplies used are :
Banner embossing folder,
Embellishments,
Cloth flowers,
Multi leaves dies.

I used the banner embossing folder as the background.
The sentiment words are from some embellishments that I've had for quite some time now. I haven't been able to figure out what kind of a card to make to use them until I saw the layout design for this week's freshly made sketches challenge.
I added some cloth flowers that I've had in my stash of stuff I haven't used in quite awhile. The leaves are from my multi leaves dies set.
While making this card, I was thinking Laugh often, Believe in yourself and in Jesus Christ, and Hope for a brighter and better tomorrow!
There's not really anything else I can say about my card, so I'll just simply say...
Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog..
And thanks in advance for your comments.

Enjoy Everyday

#636-2020-03.
The second picture is a few of the supplies that I used for making this card.
The butterfly is a hand punch. I glued some super tiny gems on it.
I also added the pink pearls with the sentiment.
I used a banner embossing folder.
I used Rich Razzleberry stampin' up ink (pictured above) for both parts of the sentiment.
For the Iris and its stems, I used ink from StudioG.
The stamp and cut set that I used for the sentiment is called "Conforms to" by Hampton Arts.

Flamingo love...

#634-2020-02.
Here is another card for this week's freshly made sketches challenge.
I was at our local Joann's craft store today and they had a bunch of their stamp and cuts on clearance and their embossing folders were 40% off.
So, I bought this tropical border embossing folder.
The flamingo and the leaves are from the Fiskars Tropical Getaway clear stamp set. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.
The flamingo is stamped onto white paper and colored in with copic markers. Then I cut it out and used double-sided adhesives to adhere them to my card base. I used a green ink from StudioG for the leaves. After stamping it on white paper, I cut it out as well and used adhesives to adhere it.
Supplies used are :
Pastel pink cardstock,
White cardstock,
Tropical Getaway clear stamp set,
Tropical border embossing folder,
Rainbow ribbon,
Black ink.
Thank you for stopping by to visit.
Your comments are appreciated!

Thankful for you everyday

Supplies used are :
White cardstock,
StudioG inks,
Pink gems,
Handwritten sentiments clear stamps,
Fabulous Florets rubber cling stamps.
I stamped the leaf directly onto the card base and then stamped and cut out the flower, which is adhered onto the leaf with a double-sided adhesive circle.

Then I added a few gems to complete my card.
